Forthcoming Events & Activities:
Awareness Days
Awareness Days
12th May 2014 / 10:00
The Exchange,Sturminster Newton
On the 12th and 13th May - times and details to be confirmed.

Care for the environment and each other, help in later life, a "good death" and a supported bereavement, can all go hand in hand.

Kindly joining our own volunteers are: Fiona, Ham Down Woodland Burial Ground owner; Cath, our local willow coffin and yurt maker; local floral artists and Helen from Williams Nursery; representatives from Age Concern North Dorset, Wayfinders (benefits advice), and Mosaic (the bereavement charity for children).

We are privileged that Nell Dunn has also allowed us to perform a rehearsed reading each day of two characters from her play "Home Death", which will be followed by a discussion by some of our contributors.

See the selection of eco-friendly coffins, take part in our quiz (with the Tuesday pub quiz group), see what our Monday morning craft club gets up to, plan your funeral, or see the range of books available (some of which will be for sale on the day).

For more information contact Judith on 01258 474125, or keep an eye on this website as we get nearer to May.

This event is sponsored by Safe Journey Home.

Spiral of Thanksgiving for the Lives of Others, Remembrance and Meditation
27th April 2014 / 11:00
Roseland, Glastonbury,
We shall be working with Jo and her team from the Lavender Farm charity, planting lavender, rosemary and marigolds for healing and remembrance.  This will form the shape of a spiral, to Fibonacci dimensions, to walk in meditation and to represent the never-ending nature of the consciousness of all living things - no death.

Please join us!  Bring a spade and/or a willing heart, wellies and a lunch to share.  Drinks provided - and we will have a loo!

Full details from Judith, tel. 01258 475124 and leave a message.

We are greatly indebted to Jo and her team for all their advice, help, hard work... and fun.

Safe Journey Resource and Drop-in Centre's Bereavement "Knit and Natter"
Just knit. Just natter.
It doesn’t really matter which.
Just pop in between 10-12.30 pm whether you have lost a loved one, or are caring for a loved one or you would just like to meet people within your community.
We are also supporting Stuminster Newton's High School 'knitters wanted' project (see issue 118 - Jan 2012) to knit squares to send to Eastern European Jews, many of whom are over eighties who survived concentration camps. If you would like to join us, please come along on Mondays.

N.B. We are not offering a counselling service.
